Hill Palace Museum, Thripunithura ,Kochi, India
The Palace complex built in 1865 by the Maharaja of Cochin consists of 49 buildings of traditional architectural style served as the administrative office of the Maharaja.
The Palace has been converted into the largest archaeological museum in Kerala, located at Tripunithura, Kochi by the Kerala State Archaeology Department and is open to public on all days except Monday.
The main building houses the artifacts, including the travel paraphernalia of the past kings and it has a few annexes which have the Ayurveda complex, an ancient pool and a mini zoo.
The main attraction of the museum is its jewelry section with thrones of the Royal family of Kochi.
Photography is strictly prohibited inside the palace. Mobile and electronic gadgets, including footwear can be placed in the locker.
Visitors who are not keen in history can relax in the garden, deer park, etc. Surrounding the palace are the lofty grown huge trees and plants rich with several rare species of medicinal plants.
